inflows
Money or assets moving into an investment fund or account.
Inflows describe money or assets entering a fund, account, or investment product. When investors deposit cash, transfer securities, or commit capital to a fund, that counts as an inflow. The opposite—money leaving—is called an outflow.
Inflows matter because they show investor demand and confidence. A fund receiving large inflows is growing, while large outflows suggest investors are losing interest or withdrawing due to poor performance. In headlines, inflows indicate where money is moving in the market—whether into stocks, bonds, crypto, or specific sectors—which can signal broader investment trends.
