Base Launches Cobalt Upgrade With Conditional Transactions and New Tools for Tokenized Assets
Base has completed its Cobalt upgrade, according to Cointelegraph and The Block, introducing conditional transactions alongside new functions for assets issued under the network’s B20 token standard.
The conditional transaction feature lets traders submit transactions that remain dormant until specified price or block conditions are met, according to The Defiant. Cointelegraph reports that issuers gain tools for compliance checks, stock splits and forced token transfers.
The Defiant describes the addition of a “seize” function among three changes made to the B20 standard, which underpins Coinbase’s tokenized stock offerings. According to The Defiant, Cobalt is the third Base upgrade shipped this year, and Base’s own documentation lists the new conditional transaction method as currently running on test networks rather than in full production.
The Block frames the release as pairing conditional transaction logic with expanded B20 asset functions, giving issuers more direct control over tokens after they have been distributed to holders.

Each figure is this site’s own reading, with what it was measured against. A blank is a reading nobody took, not a zero. The before-the-headline window prints the rate a RANDOM hour clears the same bar, because a hit rate without its null is not a finding.
